About

2014-06-22 13.14.09I am Gursharan. I was born and raised in India. I finished all my education there. My educational background includes completing Master’s Degree in Philosophy, Master’s in Computer Application, and Master’s in Information Technology. I started my teaching career after completing my first master’s degree M.Sc. (IT), as a Lecturer in Moga, India from 2006 to 2008. Then I joined Punjab College of Technical Education, Ludhiana, India as Assistant Professor and worked there until 2010. Then I was head of the department at the Institute of Engineering & Technology, Bhaddal, India, before moving to Canada in 2012. During that time, I had instructed undergraduate and graduate courses. While teaching, I finished my other two masters M.Phil., and MCA.

In 2012, I, along with my family, moved to Canada. After some initial struggle and odd jobs, I ended up being a part-time instructor in the Faculty of Applied Science and Technology at Sheridan College, Ontario in January 2013. In January 2016, I became full-time professor at Sheridan College. My field of expertise is website development and design using various web technologies, such as HTML5, CSS3, PHP, ASP.NET, JavaScript, jQuery, etc. I have been working in the teaching profession for about ten years now.

In addition to my academic duties, I have also helped students develop websites more appropriately and effectively in non-academic contexts, and have developed and led professional workshops for website learning, back in India. I am also responsible for assessing the advanced standing requests of international students at Sheridan College. My research interests include fuzzy logic, microprocessors and web development. I am an editorial member of International Journal of Electronics & Data Communication, and have published three research papers in international and national journals. I have also authored six books (one international and five national).
